Dua Suspends Until Sending Salutations

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ وَمَلٰٓٮِٕكَتَهٗ يُصَلُّوۡنَ عَلَى النَّبِىِّ ؕ يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا صَلُّوۡا عَلَيۡهِ وَسَلِّمُوۡا تَسۡلِيۡمًا‏ ٥٦

Surely, Allah and His angels send blessings to the Prophet. O you who believe, do pray Allah to bless him, and send your Salām (prayer for his being in peace) to him in abundance.

Al-Bukhari said: “Abu Al-‘Aliyah said: “Allah’s Salah is His praising him before the angels, and the Salah of the angels is their supplication.” Ibn ‘Abbas said: “They send blessings.” Abu ‘Isa At-Tirmidhi said: “This was narrated from Sufyan Ath-Thawri and other scholars, who said: ‘The Salah of the Lord is mercy, and the Salah of the angels is their seeking forgiveness.

عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الخَطَّابِ رضي الله عنه قَالَ

إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ مَوْقُوفٌ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالأَرْضِ لاَ يَصْعَدُ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ حَتَّى تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى نَبِيِّكَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib reported: Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Verily, the supplication is suspended between the heavens and the earth. Nothing ascends from it until you send blessings upon your Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.”

another narration

4399 «كل دعاء محجوب حتى تصلي على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم».

Every du’aa is kept back until you send blessings upon the Prophet (ﺼﻠﻰ ﺍﷲ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺴﻠﻡ).”saheeh aljani #4399

Another Narration

وروى الطَّبَرَانِيُّ في الأَوْسَطِ عَن عَلِيِّ بنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنهُ قَالَ:

كُلُّ دُعَاءٍ مَحْجُوبٍ عن السَّمَاءِ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيهِ وعَلَى آلِهِ وصَحْبِهِ وسَلَّمَ.

يَقُولُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَجُلاً يَدْعُو فِي صَلاَتِهِ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم

‏”‏ عَجِلَ هَذَا ‏”‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ دَعَاهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَوْ لِغَيْرِهِ

‏”‏ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِتَحْمِيدِ اللَّهِ وَالثَّنَاءِ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ لِيُصَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثُمَّ لِيَدْعُ بَعْدُ بِمَا شَاءَ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏

Virtues of Sending Salutions On prophet pbuh

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ

مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيَّ وَاحِدَةً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا

408 صحيح مسلم كتاب الصلاة باب الصلاة على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بعد التشهد

“The Prophet (ﷺ) heard a man supplicating in his Salat but he did not send Salat upon the Prophet (ﷺ), so the Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘This one has rushed.’ Then he called him and said to him, or to someone other than him: ‘When one of you performs Salat, then let him begin by expressing gratitude to Allah and praising Him. Then, let him send Salat upon the Prophet (ﷺ), then let him supplicate after that, whatever he wishes.’” Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3477

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah send blessings upon him ten times.”

 “‏ إِنَّهُ أَتَانِي الْمَلَكُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقُولُ أَمَا يُرْضِيكَ أَنَّهُ لاَ يُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ أَحَدٌ إِلاَّ صَلَّيْتُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا وَلاَ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْكَ أَحَدٌ إِلاَّ سَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا ‏”‏ ‏.‏

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came one day with a cheerful expression on his face, and we said: “We see you looking cheerful”. He said: “The Angel came to me and said: ‘O Muhammad, your Lord says: ‘Will it not please you (to know) that no one will send salah upon you that I will send salah upon him tenfold, and no one will send salams upon you but I will send salams upon him tenfold?'”
