عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

 إِنَّ أُمَّتِي يُدْعَوْنَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ غُرًّا مُحَجَّلِينَ مِنْ آثَارِ الْوُضُوءِ

فَمَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يُطِيلَ غُرَّتَهُ فَلْيَفْعَلْ

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, my nation will be called on the Day of Resurrection as brightly radiant from the traces of ablution. Whoever among you is able to extend his radiance, let him do so.”

Abdullah al-Sunabihi reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever performs ablution and rinses his mouth and nose, his sins committed with them are removed. When he washes his face, his sins committed with his face are removed even beneath his eyelids. When he washes his hands, his sins committed with his hands are removed. When he wipes his head, his sins committed with his head are removed even from his ears. When he washes his feet, his sins committed with his feet are removed even beneath his nails. Uthman ibn Affan reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, call for water and perform ablution, then he laughed. The Prophet said, “Will you not ask me what made me laugh?” They said, “What made you laugh, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “Verily, when the servant performs ablution and washes his face, Allah removes every sin he committed with his face. Likewise, when he washes his arms, wipes his head, and cleanses his feet.”

O Allah, make me among the repentant and make me among those who purify themselves,’ then the eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him and he may enter through whichever he wishes.”

Whoever fulfils them with their ablution, their timings, their bowings, and their prostrations, then he has a promise from Me that he will enter Paradise. But whoever meets Me with any shortcomings in them, he does not have a promise from Me. If I wish, I will punish him, and if I wish, I will have mercy upon him.”

Abu Umamah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whenever a man performs his ablution intending to pray and he washes his hands, the sins of his hands fall down with the first drop. When he rinses his mouth and nose, the sins of his tongue and lips fall down with the first drop. When he washes his face, the sins of his hearing and sight fall down with the first drop. When he washes his arms to his elbows and his feet to his ankles, he is purified from every sin and fault like the day he was born from his mother. If he stands for prayer, Allah will raise his status by a degree. If he sits, he will sit in peace.”

In another narration, the Prophet said, “When a Muslim man performs ablution, his sins are removed from his hearing, his sight, his hands, and his legs. If he sits down, he will sit down forgiven.”

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When a Muslim or a believer washes his face in ablution, every sin that he committed with his eyes will be washed away with the last drop of water. Qays ibn ‘Ubad reported: Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Whoever performs ablution and completes his ablution by saying, ‘Glory to you, O Allah, I bear witness there is no god but you, I seek your forgiveness and I repent to you,’ then Allah will leave an imprint upon the deed, it will be raised to the Throne, and nothing will break it until the Day of Resurrection.”

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِعَبْدِكَ كَمَا بَاتَ طَاهِرًا

Every time he turns about for an hour, the angel says: O Allah, forgive your servant, as he has retired in a state of purity.”
