Nay(But), you prefer the life of this world. Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. (87;16-17)
Imam Ahmad recorded from Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari that the Messenger of Allah said,
Whoever loves his worldly life, will suffer in his Hereafter, and whoever loves his Hereafter, will suffer in his worldly life. Therefore, chose that which is everlasting over that which is temporal.
And whatever you have been given is an enjoyment of the life of (this) world and its adornment, and that (Hereafter) which is with Allah is better and will remain forever. (28;60)
He will say: O woe to me, I wish I had sent good ahead for my life.
Surah Al-Fajr 89:24
This worldly life is nothing but diversion and amusement. Verily, the home of the Hereafter is the true life if only they knew.
Surah Al-Ankabut 29:64
O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter – that is the home of [permanent] settlement. (Ghafir [40] : 39)

Thawban reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Soon the nations will be summoned to you just like one is invited to a feast.” It was said, “Will we be few in that day?” The Prophet said, “No, rather you will be many in that day, but you will be scum like such flowing down a torrent. Allah will remove your esteem from the chests of your enemies, and Allah will insert feebleness in your own hearts.” It was said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is this feebleness?” The Prophet said, “Love for the worldly life and hatred of death.”

When the call is finished, he turns around until the call for commencement is announced and then turns his back again. Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There are two practices no Muslim man preserves but that he will enter Paradise. Surely, they are both easy yet few act upon them. Glorify Allah at the end of every prayer ten times, praise Him ten times, and exalt Him ten times. These are one hundred and fifty upon the tongue, but one thousand and five hundred upon the Scale. When you retire to your bed, glorify Him, exalt Him, and praise Him one hundred times. These are one hundred upon the tongue, but one thousand upon the Scale. Which one of you would commit two thousand and five hundred sins in a day and night?” They said, “How could we not preserve them?” The Prophet said, “Satan comes to one of you while he is praying and he whispers for him to remember this and that until he turns away and, perhaps, he does not do it.
